What are your favorite memories of activities in the SCA? Is it crown
tournament or the non-belted list at uprising? Perhaps the brewing
tournament at Lochtoberfest? One of my favorites is the George and the
Dragon tournament at Artemisian Games. The Incipient Shire of
Dragonmarch is proud to announce the return of the beloved Artemisian
Games. The ancient and exciting event returns on the last weekend of July
2019 in beautiful Dry Fork Canyon.
Heavy armor activities will include the ever-popular George and the dragon
tournament. Team up with your best friend to create a dragon and defeat
the villainous George as he attempts to steal your girl.
Also, there will be the ever-popular Gladiator Tournament. Sharpen all your
gauntlet specific weapons. Be ready to dash to the weapons and make your
selection. Make sure to keep the onlookers happy and engaged with your
performance or risk having a tomato to the face.
This will be a 2-night camping event. Come Friday afternoon to set up and visit with old friends. Fighting
and fun all day Saturday. Sunday is tear down.
Above ground fire pits are welcome with readily accessible fire extinguishers. This is dependent on
Safety: This event will be hot with limited shade, hydration will be extremely important.
Site location: Chocolate Rock in Dry Fork Canyon just outside Vernal Utah.
3443 North 3500 West Vernal Utah
Directions: Take your best route to Vernal Utah, from the West take US Highway 40, immediately upon
entering Vernal take the first left after the rest stop, onto 2500 West. Proceed North on 2500 West for 2
miles then turn left on 500 North. Travel west on 500 north for one mile to the intersection of 3500
West. At the intersection of 3500 west turn right. Travel 1.9 miles north the destination is on the left.
This is a wet site on private property located in Uintah County. Respect for neighbors will be of the
Site fee: Adults 16 and up $25 with a $5 discount for Society membership, Youth under 16 are guests of
the Shire. Single day $10. Family cap $50
Pets: Pets are welcome to responsible pet owners. We love all critters. Keep in mind this is a residential
area with nearby livestock, so leashes will be mandatory. If you can put a leash on it, you can bring it.
