Pay heed!! Word comes from the North! The Kingdom of Avacal prepares to once again journey to our northern borders for Whipping Winds. The call goes out to all of Artemisia to muster at Whipping Winds! Come to greet with combat and camaraderie our cousins from Avacal! This years festivities are hosted by the Shire of Windegate and the Barony of Bronzehelm.

Heavy combat, Rapier, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Dancing, Music, Bardic, Arts, Classes, and Shopping! All are to be found in abundant supply amongst the trees along the shore of the Marias River. Before we batten down the hatches for the long nights of winter, the Kingdoms of Artemisia and Avacal shall join together on the fields of battle, then around the campfires beneath the stars. Celebrating our mutual respect and kinship.

Shire of Windegate Championships tournaments will be held and awarded for the Arts, Heavy combat, Rapier, Archery and Thrown Weapons Tournaments. Not a champion in your local group? Come and compete to be ours!

Sir Master Terrell al-Qasab will be hosting his Annual Booty Prize Tournament for Armored Combatants. It will be held Friday evening after the heat subsides, bring your booty to the field!

There will be Armored and Rapier fighting and tournaments, both Friday and Saturday. Combat scenarios Saturday will include the Founders battle, breech battles and other savory stick swinging opportunities! New this year, inspired by Covid 19, the Social Distancing Scenario (6 feet and over). Also, the It’s a Conspiracy Battle (6 feet and under)! As always, the archery course will be open and available for practice around the tournaments.

We will have two and a half days of classes, youth activities, a Baroness’ Tea, Artisans Display and competition for Shire champion. Both Friday and Saturday nights, we will be hosting Haflas, Bardic, and Games for all to enjoy and socialize.
We have many planned classes and will be finalizing the times and locations, watch for updates! Teachers are all volunteers who give up some of their event time to pass their knowledge on to whoever wishes to learn, please thank them for their time! If you would like to teach please contact HL Sabriyya bint Mikael al-Ardabil; email femalehermit@gmail.com.
