BARONESS’ CHAMPION

Group:
Date:
Saturday, March 16, 2019 (All day)

As the spring brings new growth and green back to the land,
it will be time to select a new Champion for Baroness
Avelyn. There will be a great Heavy tournament to
determine who shall show their chivalry and honor to take on this great
charge. If weather and terrain allow, there will thrown weapons, to display
the prowess and determination of those who defend from afar. Classes
will be held, specific topics to be announced later.
Mairsile's Challenge:

I challenge all members to recycle a piece of leather and make a useful
item that is period. Leather can come from furniture, clothing, car seats,
or any other used item. Make shoes, purse, book cover, hat, vambraces,
gloves or anything a person would have owned in the period. There will
be 3 prizes to be awarded: 1. The best overall project. 2. The most creative
project. 3. The best novice project. A half page of documentation is
required and a picture of a similar period item. Prizes will be given out at
evening court.

A potluck luncheon will be available, donations appreciated.
Donations will go to the Uprising War Fund. One Thousand Eyes potlucks
are famed for a wide variety of wonderful food, so plan on participating.

Site: York Grange, south of Idaho Falls, ID. Site address is 954 East 65th
South, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. Site will open at 10:00 am, and close at 9:00
pm.

Site Fees:
Adult Event Registration Fee (18 years and older) is $15.00. Adult Member
Discount Event Registration Fee is $10.00 for paid SCA members. No
Event Registration fees for those under 18 years old. Make checks payable
to SCA Inc., Barony of 1000 Eyes.
There will not be an evening feast, as our mid-day Potluck will be quite
filling. This will allow our visitors from other baronies and shires to be
able to leave after evening court to get to their homes at a reasonable hour.

Directions:
If coming from I-15, take exit 113 and go east, toward the
mountains; this is 65th South. York Grange is on this same road. Proceed
approximately 3.5 miles. The site will be on the left (north) side of the
road. Watch for the SCA sign.
