It has been announced that the hiatus is at an end. Gather the clans and the households. Sharpen your weapons and prepare to defend the shire. There will be an armored fighter' s competition to find our new champion and holder of "BAM"(Big Ass Mallet). We also need to find our new archery and thrown weapons champions. Due to restrictions on the site these competitions will be held off site prior to the event. There will be an A & S display for those who wish to share what they have worked on during the hiatus. Several classes will be held, including a Weaving class with Lady Colleen and Leather Class by Lord Morgan the Bald. Others to be announced soon. Dragon's Tear will take place July 10, 2021at the Heritage site at Giant Springs State Park.
Giant Springs State Parks is located off Interstate 15, take Central Avenue (Exit 280). Proceed east on Central Avenue and turn left on River Drive immediately aft er crossing the Missouri River. Continue on River Drive 3.5 miles. Turn left onto Giant Springs Rd. Giant Springs State Park is located approximately 1 mile ahead, on the left. (Lat 47.53, Lng - 111.232)
Note the Heritage area is just past the FWP building on the right side of the road.
The site is open from 9 am to 8 Pm. The site does not have water. There is a primitive bathroom. The area is handicap accessible.
You can register on line but we will also accept walk ups on the day of the event.
Fees for Non members are 13.00 for adults over age of 18. The cost for member is 8.00. Teens and Children 17 and under are guests of the shire.
Classes offered at Dragon's Tear:
Leather card Case-Lord Morgan the Bald will be teaching how to make a leather case for playing cards. The cost of the class is 10$. It will take about 2 hours and will occur either before or after armored fighting.
Introduction to Weaving-Lady Colleen is offering a beginning weaving class. Along with over view of weaving people will have the chance to do some plain weaving on a small loom that you can take home.
Beginning Kumihimo will also be offered. You will leave class with a sample Kumihimo loom and the beginnings of a length of braid.
There will be a heraldry class to assist people to start the process of creating their own sca name and device.

By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks.
