Friends of old and newcomers all, we would like to invite
you to join the Barony of Arn Hold at Hope Lutheran
Church on November 3rd for a Newcomers Celebration!
With our harvest successfully brought in before the winter snows, it’s a
perfect time celebrate the bounty of our fields and welcome newfound
friends to the Barony.
This event will allow our fighters to fight outdoors one last time before
the cold arrives, and our artisans to teach classes and learn new skills so
that we may all have entertainment during the long, dark nights to come.
We have a wide range of classes planned, including Courtly Graces, SCA
101, Fiber Dyeing, Dancing, Beginning Spinning, Beginning Scribal Arts
and How to become an Authorized Fighter (both Heavy and Rapier), a
Blacksmithing Demonstration, and many more!
We will also have three fund raisers - a Luncheon and a Garb Sale to
raise money for the Baronial General Fund and a Dessert Auction to
provide for the repair of the Baronial Thrones. As an addition to the
Luncheon there will be a Populace's Choice cooking competition - a prize
given to whomsoever brings the tastiest non-dessert food (period recipes
Finally, we would like to have a food drive to support Hope Lutheran's
food pantry - attendees are encouraged (but not required) to bring a
non-perishable food item to help us fill the food pantry before the holiday
season. As an extra incentive, everyone who donates food will receive $1
off the site fee. Please note, the site hosts AA meetings, so the site is
completely dry. There is no alcohol allowed in the building.
